EID UL ADHA
A very famous festival which is known as the festival of sacrifice and celebrated in all over the world is Eid ul Adha. It is a festival which marks the end of Hajj or pilgrimage to Makkah. The best thing about this festival is that it commemorates the faith of Abraham and Allah. According to a very famous tale which is very famous in this religion is that once Allah asked Abraham to forgo his son for Allah’s sake, in spite of the fact that Abraham used to love his son a lot. But also the Devotion and Faith which Abraham is having towards Allah was so much, and that’s the main reason why Abraham didn’t hesitate to sacrifice his son for the sake of Allah. After seeing so much of devotion and faith of Abraham, Allah Spare the life of his son, and therefore a lamb was sacrificed in his place. Only after this miracle people starts believing that Allah has command over all known and unknown thing present around us.
Only due to this incident in the history of Muslim religion people start celebrating Eid ul Adha every year to gain Allah’s blessing and forgiveness. Eid ul Adha is a very holy festival of Muslims which is celebrated every year around the world with sacrifice, prayer, and food. It is also known as the great Eid and second most famous festival of Islam religion. This festival takes place in the month of Hajj on the 10th of Zill Hajj after all the events which took place in the month of Hajj performed well.
In America and Canada, many Muslims gather and do the morning prayer in a mosque or in the open environment instead of eating breakfast. After the morning prayer, people gather and with their families and enjoy being together. Whereas in Egypt people Edi-Ul-Adha is celebrated with offering morning prayer and later on enjoying the feast. Different countries have different ways to celebrate this festival, and like other festivals, it is also celebrated with joy and happiness. The Morning prayer and sermon in this religion is something which is known as an important element of this religion, and throughout the Eid, people don’t miss a day to do the Morning prayers. Individuals in this festival come from different places and meet their relatives. People also offer sacrifice in the form of Goat, Lamb, and Cow. The meat which originates from the sacrifice later on distributed among the poor people in the form of charity.
If we talk about how Pakistan celebrate this festival then in Pakistan it is celebrated as a four-day event. All the stores on this must be kept closed and like in other countries in Pakistan also people gather and listen the sermon in Mosque. In the same way, this festival is celebrated in countries like Morocco and Bangladesh. All these countries are Muslim Dominated countries so it can be said that in all these countries this festival is celebrated with lots of happiness. The countries which are Non- Muslim there Eid-Ul-Adha is celebrated with limitations and no such holidays over there are given. But it is a festival of Muslims which is celebrated with lots of happiness throughout the world.
Why do People Sacrifice Animals On This Day?
During this entire month, Muslims, as discussed above, remember the trials and hardship faced by Prophet Abraham. But giving a sacrifice in the form of an animal is a very misunderstood fact to remember the holy event has been a very misunderstood phenomenon around the world outside the faith of Islam. It is also a fact that Allah has given power to everyone and permitted to eat meat, but it only relies on when we slaughter it in the name of Allah. But what Muslims do is that they slaughter animals throughout the year. And at the time of slaughtering, they call it by the name of Allah and to remind them that they are living a very holy life.
The meat which comes from the sacrifices usually given to others. But in reality what people do is that one-third of its part is eaten by the immediate family members and friends, one- third is kept for the friends and rest which will be left is donated to poor people. In them, some people are also present who used to donate a lot of money on this day to receive Allah’s Blessing. This act also portrays a clear example in which we just give things that are dear to us in the way of Allah to follow his commands. This act is something which promotes brotherhood among Muslim society. Not just this but it also refreshes our faith in Allah, and they recognize that all the blessings which come are from Allah Alone.
But if you are thinking that by giving sacrifice you will wash your sins, so you are wrong as it has nothing to do with it. This is something which is a misunderstanding created by their previous generations.
If you are giving sacrifice and thinking that it will reach through Allah, then you are wrong as nothing reaches neither the meat nor the blood and in fact, Allah has nothing to do with the blood or sacrifice. It is just a piety of the Muslims offering the sacrifice that is observed by Allah. A true Muslim will always follow Allah’s path and will never break the rules of Islam but there are some Muslims who always like to break the rule, and at the time of Eid they show like that they are very sacred and do all the things only for Allah.
From the above discussion, it is clear that Eid- Ul- Adha is a very famous festival of the Muslim religion. The primary purpose of this event is to earn Allah’s countless blessings by sacrificing Animals in the way of Allah, completing the rituals and offering the Eid-Ul-Adha prayer.
So just celebrate this festival in a very holy way and earn the blessings of Allah.
